Pear Bistro Salad
California pears jazz up this simple salad.
Ingredients
- 8 cups (2 L) assorted torn mixed salad greens
- 2 fresh California Bartlett or Comice pears, cored and sliced
- 1/2 red onion, sliced thinly
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) walnut halves
- 1/2 cup (125 mL) crumbled blue cheese
- balsamic vinegar
- olive oil
Procedure
- Line platter with greens; top with pears, sliced onion, nuts and cheese.
- Combine vinegar and oil to taste; drizzle over salad. Serve with crusty bread, if desired.
Makes 4 servings.
