Membership Info
In 2001, many of the state's agricultural industries
joined together to create the Buy California Marketing Agreement.
Their goal? To increase the awareness and consumption of the
state's diverse agricultural products through a multifaceted,
generic marketing campaign revolving around a California identity.
Three
years later, it's obvious their efforts are paying off!
- Retail
efforts for "California Grown" are expanding
into virtually all departments of the grocery store and beyond.
- Public
events and consumer outreach has generated hundreds of stories
on television and radio and in newspapers.
- Licensees are using
the logo on packaging and product to merge the connection
for the consumer at the point of purchase.
- Foodservice pilot programs
were successful at selling more signatory products and will
continue in the future.
Each signatory group receives a seat on the Buy
California Board of Directors, ensuring that all signatory members
have a hand in shaping the program. Other signatory benefits
include seeing their products promoted in specific "California
Grown" activities
having use of the CA GROWN logo at no charge for their industry
members.
Today, the number of signatories continues to grow,
as does the reach and positive economic impact of the program.
