The California Cut Flower Commission is a non-profit public corporation formed in October 1990 by and for growers, under the laws of the State of California. The express purpose of the Commission is to promote California flowers. It was voted into being by a referendum of cut flower growers. One hundred growers qualify to pay assessments to the commission. Assessments are levied at the rate of .005% of sales of fresh cut flowers and cut greens. Qualified growers are those whose annual sales meet or exceed $500,000.
Mission: The California Cut Flower Commission’s mission is to provide a unified effort by growers to enhance the performance of the California cut flower and greens industry.
Objectives: To improve the market position of California cut flower and cut greens growers through promotion. To develop and execute an achievable public relations program to monitor and inform governmental and regulatory bodies of their impact upon California cut flowers and cut greens. To design and implement a grower relations program to achieve grower involvement in the California Cut Flower Commission.
